Journalling

Material Girl
Very much a Material Girl, looks and accessories are everything.
But at what cost? and what will she do when she is thrown onto the scrapheap as younger ones shove her out?!

That is why I gave her such a hot and stark background, to stand out in all her, ahem, Glory!

Do you know who is watching you?

Voyeurism. Do you know who is watching you? Talking Heads, Psycho Killer was playing in my mind on this one, could have been so many other tunes though.

The age of independence

The age of independence. A rather old comes to mind called Mind your own business! mmmmm….!

Here are a few of my latest journal pages.
I have used Inktense sticks, paints, stencils and images from magazines and newspapers.

Does music play a part in your art? I am often humming a song to work that I am doing, as you will see below.

Urban Jungle
Lou Reed, Take a walk on the wild side playing on my mind through this one – he stopped me putting the leopard on a chain, yes, she would have tamed it, but…then there wouldn’t be the wild element and does she necessarily need a lead to tame it?

I said hey babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I said hey babe, take a walk on the wild side…

The Makeover
“…it had to start somewhere, so I took her there..”
Pulp and Common People was playing in my head as I was doing this one, particularly that line. Well, yes, I guess the makeover had to start somewhere and she is a bit posh!

It had to start somewhere.

It had to start somewhere.

London’s Burning
The Clash, London’s Burning, need I say more….

There's a kind of modern Nero theme in my mind on this one, the riots were awful last year and while people suffered there were those who were oblivious.

There’s a kind of modern Nero theme here. The riots of 2013
